Rice research with ZEISS X-ray microscopy - 3D structure of a rice seed

July 18, 2018

X-ray microscopy provides a new tool for rice and other agriculture research. It enables researchers to observe the inner structure in 3D non-destructively.
Research conducted by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Shanghai and ZEISS.
This video shows the 3D structure of a rice seed. The internal structure of embryo, endosperm and glume shell can be displayed through the imaging of the whole rice seed.
