What does it mean to be a metallographer?

February 22, 2019
... Toni explains it and describes his training at the Lette Verein Berlin. Metallographers deal with the microstructure of materials and make a contribution to quality assurance, material testing, damage analysis and research of materials. They are employed in the testing laboratories of industry as well as in private and state research institutions. The Lette Verein Berlin has a tradition of training metallographers for more than one hundred years. ZEISS microscopes support practical training. The students learn the metallographic tools with light microscopes such as ZEISS Primotech, ZEISS Smartzoom 5 and ZEISS Axioscope. Thanks to the training partnership with Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, they even have access to electron microscopes and FIB-SEMs such as ZEISS Crossbeam. http://www.letteverein.berlin/metallographie/metallographie_occupational_image/
