Drawn In Light (short version)

July 22, 2011
'Drawn In Light' is a film by Andrew Robinson documenting artist Joanne Berry's project 'Hijacking Natural Systems'. The year long project funded by Wellcome Trust and Arts Council England involved Jo working as a research scientist a day a week for six months in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Nottingham. During this time she collaborated with scientists Dr Nick Holliday and Tim Self on research that resulted in an academic poster presented at a scientific conference and produced visual imagery with ZEISS microscopes and software which formed the basis of a range of digital drawings, animations and illuminated artworks for exhibition. Andrew followed Jo's progress over the year to create a 20 minute documentary which is being exhibited alongside the finished artwork at Derby Museum and Art Gallery, England, UK between 23rd July and 30th October 2011. The version presented here is a 7 minute version of the full length film.
